Privacy and GDPR
At AcuCoach we take your privacy very seriously at every level, in all the methods of contact, that we have with you. We always have. The new law was put in place in 2018 called GDPR. It would have been very hard to ignore by the number of emails we received at the time.
We completely agree that people should be able to manage their personal data and have the right to be anonymous, if they choose. In line with the law, AcuCoach has its legal privacy policy in place but I wanted to take the opportunity to tell you in simple and relevant terms how we have always used your data and how we will continue to do so.
AcuCoach is primarily Kerrie Wheeler. If I have any of your personal data it is because you have chosen/freely consented to provide me with this information yourself. I do not collect data from any other source. Any information you provide me is completely confidential and is not supplied to/shared with any other party.
Unless you are a client who uses my services the only data I have about you is your name, email and/or telephone number. Any personal data you have given me is kept on a secure personal database which is only accessible by me. I keep any emails that may have been sent to you or you have sent to me. Again this is only accessible to me. If you gave any of your personal details to a colleague of mine, that information is only for their purposes. No one else has that access to your personal data. This data is kept for five years from the last contact.
The only reason I collect your personal data is to contact you for the purpose of informing you about AcuCoach services and information relating to your well-being that Acucoach can support you with. I limit the amount of contact I have with you for marketing purposes.
If you have become a client, I only have written notes and nothing else is stored electronically other than already specified above. This information is stored securely and is only accessible to me. I will keep your personal written file indefinitely. The reason for storing this is so I have all your relevant information and treatment plans should you have ongoing treatment with me or if you do not use my services for a length of time. You may come back to see me after a long period to address an issue that may have arisen at a later stage. I only contact current/previous clients to check on their wellbeing and to make appointments or to follow up on actions we have agreed during sessions, where you the client have given me consent to do so.
All information is stored securely. The only data that is stored electronically is your email address, any email correspondence between us and possibly your telephone number. If you forward your personal details electronically I print them off and then delete them from my personal computer.
You can access your data, and read your notes, as applicable, at any time – please just ask me.
You, of course, have the right to ask me to remove or destroy your data and/or session notes at any time. To do this please email me at kerrie@acucoach.co.uk.
